COMEDY & THE CHURCH: Koliko aka Obligado

Standard

IMG_3932.JPG

There is this pastor’s message going viral on social media about ” comedians coming on the holy alter playing jokes with the holy tinz of God &the danger of allowing comedians to crack jokes in Church (alter)…”.
I have watched & listened to the message very keenly & other preachers regarding this issue and I must say….”There are VITAL TRUTHS in their teachings, but not withstanding the attack on comedians or comedy as a career”.
Yes! I subscribe to the fact that, not every (I mean any) comedian should be allowed to mount the alter of God to minister, no matter how funny he/she maybe…(Eph 5:4). Same way, not every musician, dramatist, speakers, and even pastors should be allowed on the alter…cos THE ALTER/ HOUSE/THINGS OF GOD IS SACRED.
BUT MY STAND ON THIS ISSUE is…..comedy is not a sin. It an Art of Laughter. Laughter is God’s nature (psalm 2:4),and its God’s desire to see His children laugh (Gen 21:6). The Word “Comedy” is just a theatrical name attributed to amusement or laughter.
Like most religious Christians will say ‘there is no word like “comedy” in the Bible’…I agree. Same way, there is no ‘Drama or Christian movie’ in the Bible. Yet, Jesus Christ used stories (parables) to illustrate his message. Which can be theatrically called in our modern world as drama, movie, film, poem, playlet, storytelling, etc. Therefore, you will agree with me that every theatrical stories &characters in the Bible was meant to deliver a message for our edification….so as comedy, drama, etc.
Its very unfortunate that the CHURCH TODAY IS A MUSEUM FOR RELIGIOUS PEOPLE WHILE THE WORLD WHICH WE CONDEMN, IS NOW THE HOSPITAL FOR THE BROKEN HEARTED. I am so ashamed how we have driven God’s youth and great talents out of the Church due to criticisms, holier than thou attitude…and still expect to win souls???. The world is given dem what they want: fame and money. Yet, you will collect their tithes, offerings, dedicate their houses, cars, etc from the sources we call sin. God is watching!!!
On a final note, my stand is COMEDY MUST BE EMBRACED IN CHURCH AND CHRISTIAN GATHERINGS such as anniversaries, concerts, special celebration services, church dinners, Christian social outing, possibly once in a while laughter services for kingdom edification,…..NOT during deliverance, miracle, prophetic, word impartation or any other Sunday or sabbath services (1 Corinth 10: 23).
As much as we condemn vulgar, profane, dirty jokes, and jesting with sacred things in the house of God…..there are still clean, ethical, and message driven jokes from God fearing and disciplined comedians that edify not defy the body of Christ. (Eph 5:4).
NB: yes! it is not everyone who brands him self as gospel comedian or say Christian jokes that fears the Lord or knows the Lord.
Pastors &all special advisers to God, pls condemn the sin….embrace the sinner. (John 3:17)
Remember, Every good and perfect gifts is from God (James 1:17)
Laughter heals!!!!
KOLIKO is my name I stand for the truth.
We must use our talent to give GOD glory no matter the criticism.
That is why this year’s edition of laugh in tongues season 3
Is tagged
“THE ENCOUNTER”
June 11th is the date.
United believers mission is the venue.
Come and listen to jokes that will change your life.

Man Masterminds Multimillion Naira Fraud From Kuje Prison, Decieves Wife That He Is In Italy

IMG_3613.JPG

An inmate of the Kuje Maximum Prison, Abuja, Ifeanyi Ezenwa, has been accused of coordinating series of frauds, which netted members of his syndicate millions of naira.
The gang specialised in defrauding their victims, especially businessmen through the use of fake bank alerts. They normally do this on Friday, knowing that banks don’t operate on weekends.

It was also gathered that Ezenwa had 17 different fraud cases pending in different courts. “When I received the alert, it had my previous balance in it and the total money was balanced. I wondered how he was able to get access into my account,” a victim said.
Ezenwa, who is in prison, uses a smart phone that is connected to the internet and browses through online retail sites like OLX, JiJi and Jumia, where he connects with people who wants to sell their valuables especially cars, chatting with them via Whatsapp.
Investigations so far has revealed that he collected 15 tractors in Delta, 18 Land Cruiser Prado Jeeps, Hummer buses from Elizade motors, three exotic cars from a car stand in Abuja and 8 trucks from Edo.
Until IRT operatives recently smashed the syndicate, his wife didn’t know he was in prison. When police stormed his home in Abuja to impound stolen cars, the woman told them that there must have been a mistake somewhere.

She told the IRT men that her husband was in Italy and used to call her often with an international number. “He used to send money to his wife from prison; his sister and brothers knew he was in prison, but his wife didn’t,” a police source said.
He is alleged to have built several houses and a hotel, from the loot got from his fraudulent activities while in prison.

“It was a pleasant surprise to hear him tell this story and about how he came to be in the board room with us. Even more surprising was hearing him speak about his passion for governance and integrity in leadership.”
“Mohammed Ibrahim Ogbanago is an exemplary ambassador of the UBA spirit and it was fulfilling to meet and reward him for his conduct.”
“The @UBAGroup management is proud to have this caliber of staff at all levels. Congratulations to Mohammed and keep up the good work”, he concluded

Recall that Stephanie Otobo had earlier alleged that Apostle Suleman after a proposal of marriage went with her to see her father during which an introduction ceremony took place.
She later said that the introduction took place at the church headquarters after her father debunked the claim. Stephanie said her mother and siblings accompanied her to Auchi for the ceremony.
But, Mrs Otobo said denied accompanying Stephanie to the headquarters of Omega Fire Ministries in Auchi for the alleged introduction ceremony.
Mrs Otobo who spoke in Pidgin English revealed that she had never met Apostle Suleman.
Stephanie’s mother said she had never been to the Omega Fire Ministries warning that “those manipulating her daughter against the man of God would be exposed.”
She blamed the devil for seeking to destroy her daughter while lamenting that all efforts to get Stephanie to leave a normal life had not yielded the desired result.
However, Mrs Otobo appealed to Apostle Suleman to forgive her daughter and bury the hatchet while expressing the willingness to apologise to the cleric if given access to him.
Meanwhile, Omega Fire Ministries has accused Governor Nasir El-Rufai of masterminding the sex scandal allegation against its overseer, Apostle Suleman.

Stephanie Otobo and Apostle Joshua Suleiman Otobo was charged alongside Wisdom Godstime, aged 43. They are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, blackmail, and threat to life, preferred against them by the police.
The prosecutor, M. A. Animashaun, told the court that the defendants and others at large committed the alleged offence on February 14, 2017, at about 10:30am, at Police College, Ikeja, Lagos. He said the duo conspired to steal by demanding for property with menace and an attempt to extort money. Animashaun also said the defendants, with intent to blackmail, unlawfully demanded the payment of $1 million to Otobo by Apostle Suleiman, else she would call a press conference and accuse him of committing adultery with her and having illicit relationship with her and thereafter kill him.
The prosecutor further alleged that the defendants with intent to extort money from Suleiman, accused him of committing adultery with Otobo, and also promised to marry her. According to the Animashaun, the offences committed are punishable under sections 411, 301 and 303 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015. However the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge against them. Magistrate Mrs Kikelomo Bukola- Ayeye, in her ruling granted the defendants bail in liberal term and asked them to deposit the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum, who must be gainfully employed.
On March 6, Magistrate Ayeye, had refused a request to remand Stephanie Otobo and Wisdom Godstime, on the grounds that there is no substantial evidence to deny Stephanie her fundamental right to freedom. She held that the matter was a case between two Nigerians and it does not matter if one of the parties was a man of God. She adjourned the case to April 27, for the commencement of trial.

ADVICE GONE SOUR “SUSAN OGE”

IMG_2909-0.JPG

A girl named Susan OGE decided to share some advice that ought to be useful to other women Out there and she got a back lash from some Facebook users..
Below is the exact message she posted on her Facebook wall and after it are some munched comments from the Facebook users…

True?IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL WOMEN.
1). Most men cannot have sex exclusively with just one woman, for the rest of their lives.

2). Men are created with varied sexual appetite, some men can do without sex for a year, others cannot do without sex for 2 days.

3). A man who’s madly in love with one woman may still have sex with other women but still love his ‘woman’.

4). Some of the best husbands have concubines or mistresses. Their extra marital affairs play a role in keeping the man sane and free of sexual tensions, especially during mid-life crises.

5). If your man is just having sex with some sweet sexy teen or babe, DO NOT WORRY. It’s part of the game.

6). Most highly respected men of God sleep with their wife’s closest friends, trusted church members or domestic staff (house girl) because they cannot chase other women in d open to avoid being seen.

7). Most chronic wife beaters are faithful husbands, they hardly have extra marital affairs.

8). Most ‘extra’ loving husbands have concubines, these concubines keep the man abreast on new ways of making women happy.

9). Your man’s mistress or concubine is most times not interested in you or your home. She has already seen your pictures and those of your kids via your hubby’s phone. She and your hubby just have a sexual understanding or partnership which helps both deal with peculiar individual issues.

10). As a woman, if you go all out in a bid to catch your husband red-handed cheating, you WILL succeed. Then what next? If you listen hard to your domestic servants in their private discussions, you will certainly hear them insult you, so why listen?

11). Judge your man by his responsibilities towards you and the kids, and NOT by who he’s giving ‘Sexual style’ to outside

12) A man who will cheat will cheat irrespective of what you do! Stop checking his phone, don’t go through his mailbox! Stay away from it.

Pls share with your male friends too to “help in keeping him grounded”
