A bomb explosion has occurred in Azare, a town in Bauchi State of Nigeria which is the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area.
The blast, according to Daily Trust Newspapers, occurred at a popular phone market called Kasuwar Waya around 5.45 pm, Sunday, November 16, 2014.
This is the second blast in Azare town in the last 10 days. Two weeks ago, a suicide bomber attacked a First Bank branch in the town, killing 14 people and leaving dozens injured.
It is unclear if there are casualties.
Meanwhile, Yusuf Tuggar, a gubernatorial aspirant in Bauchi State under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken to Twitter to make some statements on the incident and to say that the hospital staff at the Federal Medical Centre are on strike. His comments have not been confirmed.
